The owner of Place 2 Be on Franklin Avenue in Hartford recently opened a “booze garden” in downtown Hartford and are working on plans to open a second Place 2 Be “boujie” brunch spot in West Hartford.

Place 2 Be may be best known for its crazy “bottomless” cocktails served in festive tiny tubs.

“Each spot has a unique vibe,” the owner said.

The booze garden is in the old Spectra Wired Cafe and features small plates as well as craft cocktails. It’s open on Constitution Plaza, seven days a week, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The West Hartford spot is in Blue Back Square on Memorial “where you take your mother-in-law to brunch,” the owner noted. The restaurant will serve brunch as well as full-course meals. It’s opening in the old The Cook and The Bear space sometime in fall.

The first The Place 2 Be opened in 2016. It is owned by Gina Lauri. If you're wondering what boujie means - it's a tongue-in-cheeck term for things the working class would call high-class.
